Holiday Social Studies Project Due January 2nd 2014
Any Project that is not brought in on the 2nd will be considered a failure for that criteria on your report card.
Aim: The students will demonstrate how European explorers established sea trade with Asia and illustrate how they claimed lands for foreign sponsors.
Directions:
- On your poster board draw a map of the world or go on the internet and download a map of the world.
- Keep in mind that all of the continents should show on your map.
- The purpose of your project is to create an illustration of Major Voyages.
- Each map should contain a map key that shows all of the discoveries of each of the following explorers. (See Below).
- Use a different color thread to represent each explorer, their voyages/expeditions and lands they claimed or discovered.
- Include the year and country each land was claimed for in your key.
- Each discovery should be represented with a different color thread that begins at the point of origin to the land or islands that were discovered.
