Geography of the Fertile Crescent
Aim: The students will illustrate and explain why the geographical aspects of Mesopotamia made each civilization vulnerable to the rule of each King who governed the land.
DIRECTIONS:
- Draw a map of Mesopotamia or log on to "Maps of Mesopotamia" on the internet to find a template.
- Illustrate and list in your key how the Kings of Mesopotamia were able to control all of the surrounding territories.
- All maps should be titled and illustrated on poster board.
- Rivers and territories must be illustrated clearly.
- Follow the map on page 67 or you can also go on the internet to get a better illustration on "Maps.com".
- Use the yarn distributed to the class to begin in Babylon and end with each territory affected by King Uruk, King Hammurabi and King Sargon's rule.
- You can use glue, glitter, markers etc. to complete your project.
- Use a different color piece of yarn in your key to illustrate each territory.
